    Local Musicians.....

Who are some of the best local musicians around, I know there are a ton of them that put out some quality music. The thread on Cody Mabe got me to thinking about this. I will put up a few videos of those that I know and I'm sure there are many more.....

    Folk Soul Revival

YouTube - Folk Soul Revival "Sweet Virginia"

    Austin Boggs Band

YouTube - Mud Bogs and Beer by Austin Boggs.mpg

I don't have time to upload all videos so maybe somebody else can upload a few from our local talents.

Who is your favorite to watch live from around this area??????

    From the oldies file:

One of the most important figures in early rockabilly was from Big Stone Gap. Roy "The Hound" Hall wrote and was the first to record Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' on and he is considered a key figure in the birth of Rock and Roll by those who know the detailed history of Rock. Jerry Lee Lewis once worked for Hall. Hall's influence was all over the Killers early stuff.

    Re: Local Musicians.....

And then there are the formally trained instrumental and vocal musicians in our area, that many folks dont appreciated or follow because they're not country music singers (some of who aren't musicians at all).

I recommend checking performances at UVA-Wise and some other organizations such as Winds of the Mountain Empire. That's my version of a musician.
    You'll shoot your eye out.
